Aguero out of decisive Roma clash, Pellegrini revealsThe Argentine hobbled off after suffering an injury in the first minute of City's win over the Toffees and will play no part in the Champions League showdown in Rome

Aguero lasted barely a minute of the game before appearing to twist his left knee in a challenge against Phil Jagielka, hobbling from the field in tears.

Coach Manuel Pellegrini admitted that the short-term outlook for the striker, who has scored 19 goals in 19 league and Champions League goals this term, is not good.

The Chilean revealed that the injury was a ligament problem and admitted that it is highly unlikely that the forward will be fit for the crucial European tie with the Serie A side.

"Probably he will miss the game," he told reporters.

"We are not sure at this moment, but it's very difficult when you have a problem with your ligament to recover in three days.

"Of course, it's a big problem because Sergio was in a very good moment. He is a decisive player for our team but this team is not just Sergio."
City go to Roma in need of at least a score draw while also hoping that CSKA Moscow lose to Bayern.

And Pellegrini also does not expect David Silva or Stevan Jovetic to be fit to face the Serie A side in midweek.

"Silva is not ready," he said. "Jovetic has a problem so that's why we are pleased to beat Everton, a very good team, without five very important players."
