This brutal and disturbing video clip shows a man beating a woman repeatedly with a huge chunk of 2x4 timber.
It is hoped the footage, which has been seen 12 million viewers online, will help identify the attacker who battered the unidentified victim.

The 35 second clip reportedly shot in Brazil shows the man repeatedly hitting the woman with the chunk of wood and although there is no verbal exchange between the two, she can be heard screaming in obvious agony as he continues to rain down the blows on her body.
She is cowering in the corner of a room in what looks like a building site and, unable to get away, is reduced to covering her head to escape from the blows.
At one point in the video, it sounds like a small child can also be heard crying nearby.
